At the same time with the more titled Vinitaly, in Cerea- Verona took place the ninth edition of Vini Veri (wine according to nature). Gatherd in the expo area, wonderful location for space and light, about 130 producers from various Italian regions have shown their late vintages. For those who don't know this consortium has the purpose of stimulating the interest of the producers and private consumers toward wines made with natural methods. The wine makers who join the project engage to respect a series of rules, among them : exclusion of herbicides, exclusion of chemical fertilizers, exclusion of genetically altered vines, cultivation of autocthonous vines, use of products admitted by biological agricolture regulations for the treatments in the vineyard, manual picking, exclusion of the add of any nourishment product as vitamins, enzijmes, bacteriums exclusion of any manipulation inent on quickering and or slowing down the natural fermentation of the must or wine, fermentation with no control of the temperature and go on. All these attention for naturalness and environment toghether with the producers costancy offered us a wonderful, unforgattable day. We had the chance of tasting extraordinary wines, high expression of the territory. from a future point of view there is a very interesting region: Friuli Venezia Giulia with its Pinot Bianco e Grigio, Tocai Friulano, and Sauvignon blanc. Another amazing region is Sicily with its autochthonous vine Mascalese Nerello, followed by the classical Piedmontese Barolo and Barbaresco. we concluded the visit with surprising and very good French wines. All the tastes went well with excellent cheese from Alte langhe and L'aquila Abruzzi.
Here is a list of what suprised and thrilled us, looking foward to partecipating in the next edition.
